Privacy Policy

We keep it simple: Papry stores your data on your device and in your personal iCloud storage. We cannot access it.

In short: Papry stores your documents on your device and in your own private iCloud. We operate no server for your documents, we receive no copy of them, and we have no way to read them.

2. Data stored by the app

Papry stores the data you enter yourself on your device and in iCloud, for example:

There is no account and no registration. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.

3. iCloud sync

Storage and synchronization are performed via Apple's iCloud infrastructure and your personal iCloud account. Papry does not run its own sync server for your document data.

4. Access to your data

Papry has no technical ability to access, read, retrieve or delete the documents you store. We operate no backend and no account system, so there is no place your documents could be sent to. Your data is held in a private iCloud container tied to your Apple ID. There is no shared or public database, we receive no copy, and no third party receives your content.

One limit we want to state clearly: iCloud data is stored on Apple's infrastructure under Apple's terms, in the same way your iCloud photos and backups already are. If you want your data end-to-end encrypted so that Apple cannot read it either, enable Advanced Data Protection in your iCloud settings. Papry benefits from that automatically.

5. On-device processing

Text recognition on your scans and documents runs entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded for processing, and search over your document contents works without any connection to us.

6. Tracking and analytics

Papry uses no third-party analytics SDKs and no advertising trackers. We build no usage profiles and we do not track you across apps or websites.

7. In-app purchases

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Papry does not receive your payment card details. Apple only tells the app whether a purchase is active.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Because we store no personal data about you, there is nothing on our side for us to disclose or delete. You control your data directly: delete it in the app, or remove Papry's data from your iCloud settings. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde.
